Knitta, Please !

OK ! I heard about this before going to Paris so when I saw it in the streets it was really cool. I really like their idea. You can go visit their web page right here. I like how they describe themselves : "Knitta is a group of ladies of all ages, nationalities, and… gender." I think I discovered them on Mim's blog where she posted pictures of some of them (see here) and so I did a research about it. By the way I'm sure N. will be thrilled (or was) to see that Knitta's webpage's icon is a skull.

this is by the subway Saint Paul.

this was at the corner of 'rue Saint Honoré' & 'rue du Marché St-Honoré' accross from Colette (the store).

Raul Paz en vivo !

Raul Paz is a Cuban Singer. He was in concert in Paris on December the 12, so I guess this was a kind of an ad. For the non Spanish speakers, 'in vivo' means 'live'. You can learn more about him here and here.
This stencil was found 'rue de Lappe' near Bastille, the street of many bars.

Merde !

Those were found around the Tuileries, near rue Saint Honoré. They're actually not stencils but stamps (and stickers). By the way, the word 'étron" seen on one of the stickers means 'tird'.
enjoy !

Where is Adalia

Roadrunner Records has organised a sort of a 'Madina Lake mission' (Madina Lake being the band's name) in Paris where many stencils have been made at different spots (in front of the Virgin Store, Concert Halls, High Schools, etc) with the face of Adalia and the mention 'Où est Adalia ?' (Where is Adalia ?).
Adalia is on the cover of their album, she is a fictitious character created by the band that is supposed to have disappeared. The Adalia website (in french) will send you here (french) to get a free mp3 song. Their official MySpace page (english) is here and the other official band's web page is here (english).

This one was shot in front of the entrance of the 'Carrousel du Louvre', 'rue de Rivoli'.

face to face

Those faces were found in the same area, almost the same street (rue Saint Roch and Rue Saint Honoré). From an anonymous artist probably. Actually there is a name next to one but I couldn't find anything related to it.

Nemo

This found was found again in Le Marais district, near the one from Mosko & Associès in rue des Hospitalières St-Gervais.
This one was made by Nemo, one of the most well known stencil artist in Paris (and around since 25 years). He generally does his work on abandoned buildings and is easily recognizable to his man in black surrounded by cats, birds or umbrellas. You can see most of his work in the 19th and 20th districts of Paris, near the Belleville district.

Somebody added this little cat by its side.

You can find more about Nemo on the web here, here, or here.
