Against Institutions

I found this one in Tünel near Taksim. You can actually see many stencils on this wall on top of which a big graffiti was done. I will share about those stencils later on. I will also share about this graffiti and more, later. Today's stencil is on the right. It represents a man from the prehistoric era with a lance in his hand. On the side you can read "Kurumlar! Dağılın Lan!" which is actually not that easy to translate (for me). It means :"Institutions! Disperse!" or "move away". A socially engaged message actually done by an anonymous artist but it looks like Osman's work (here, here, here or here).

Obey Giant

This reproduction of the 'Obey Giant' stencil from artist Shepard Fairey was done by Turkish artist Ari Alpert. He started an underground production company called 'Osman Production' which involves street art, DJing, fashion design, visual arts, ...
First he started by doing Shepard's 'giant', but soon came up with the idea of transforming it. He took the original and added a mustache giving it a Turkish twist. He also added a tag name – Osman. You can see those ones mainly in Cihangir.

Here, with the added mustache. You can see some other stencils in this picture. The ash tray on the wall behind that you can see in a previous post. Ari's stencil is below a DEHAP stencil. DEHAP being a political party that have been bukaked by the way.

This one is on a box of the gas company, you can see the larger picture in the post published 2 days ago, or here.

Osman Quarter

All I can say is that this Osman is a productive and working man, that's the fourth stencils of him on this wall as far as I know. This one is an inverted stencil of about 5x15 cm.

Osman ter

Another one from Osman or should I say two ? It's a set of two guys standing above this ventilation grill. It's actually very close to the ground and a bit further from all the other stencils but eh ! it's the same wall, isn't it (well you see later) ? This one was also added recently, I even think it's one of the last one that have been added here.
About 5x15 cm.

Osman

Osman is probably the guy doing this stencil. I have (again) a series of work of this guy that I will (again) post later. He is easily recognizable because he signs his work or if not there is (often) this little guy with a tie (about 30x10 cm).
